A research unit CNRS, INRIA, ENSTA. POEMS is interested in the mathematical study and numerical simulation of wave propagation phenomena, modeled by partial differential equations, that play a key role in many areas of physics and engineering (reduction of aircraft noise, non-destructive testing by means of ultrasonic waves, oil exploration using seismic waves, electromagnetic radars, miniaturization of optical components, metamaterials, …).
