Alexis Gautreau set up his research team in the Laboratoire de Biologie Structurale de la Cellule (*BIOC: a CNRS, École polytechnique - Institut Polytechnique de Paris joint research unit) on the École polytechnique campus in 2015. Together with the students, he has developed a line of research on "Personalized reconstruction of the tumor process", financed by a sponsorship from Servier. He is Director of Research at CNRS (DR1) and Professor at École polytechnique. He has been Chairman of the School's Biology Department since 2023.
