Personal profile

Personal profile

He is a senior research director (Directeur de Recherches 1ʳᵉ classe) at CNRS, currently based at the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides (LMS), École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France. His academic and research career at CNRS spans nearly three decades, during which he has held successive positions as Chargé de Recherches (1995–2005), Directeur de Recherches 2ᵉ classe (2005–2015), and, since 2015, Directeur de Recherches 1ʳᵉ classe.

Research interests

His research activities address a series of problems in solid continuum mechanics. The aim is to provide computationally tractable solutions for engineering problems or fundamental questions based on a solid theoretical framework.

His current research interests focus on the multiscale exploration of the mechanisms underlying damage and fatigue, as well as the extension of these methods to new materials: materials manufactured by additive processes, shape memory alloys, composites exhibiting coupling between mechanical and electromagnetic phenomena, etc.
