Daniel Florentin is an assistant professor of environment and urban studies at the École des Mines de Paris, at the Institut Supérieur d’Ingénierie et de Gestion de l’Environnement (ISIGE), and an associate researcher at the Centre de Sociologie de l’Innovation (CSI) and the Laboratoire Techniques, Territoires, Sociétés (LATTS).

He works in particular on issues relating to the greening of local public action. He examines this through the transformation of urban infrastructure systems (water, sanitation, district heating, roads) and the practices of urban development operators. This leads him to address issues of maintenance, care, heritage management, and the transformation of economic models of urban production. He is a member of the scientific committee of Urbanités and head of the journal's editorial committee.
