Élie Awwad is a senior lecturer in the Optical Telecommunications research team (GTO). He received his PhD from Télécom Paris in January 2015 with his thesis on emerging space-time coding techniques for optical fiber transmission systems. He then worked as a research scientist at Nokia Bell Labs before joining Télécom Paris in October 2019.
His areas of research are telecommunication systems, fiber optic sensors and digital signal processing. He is currently supervising three PhD students on topics ranging from fiber optic networks to new fiber optic sensor interrogators.
