Emmanuel de Langre is a professor of mechanics at École Polytechnique. He has worked as an engineer in the French nuclear industry. His main research interests are fluid-structure interactions and vibrations in structures such as heat exchangers and submerged cables, as well as natural systems such as crops and trees that deform under the action of wind. He created and taught the course on fluid-structure interactions at École Polytechnique for over ten years. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Fluids and Structures.
