Personal profile

After graduating from Université Pierre and Marie-Curie (Paris 6, France) and Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, I completed a PhD in 1999 in Mechanical Engineering that focused on the mechanical behavior and cavitation of rubbers. I was hired as a junior researcher at CNRS in 2000 to work on the mechanical modeling of polymers. This is still my main topic of research. Thanks to the CNRS, I was able to spend more than 2 years at the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO (USA) working with professor Ken Gall and professor Alan Greenberg on shape memory polymers and molecular dynamics simulations. I was promoted to senior researcher in 2012. Julie Diani is currently working at the LMS lab in École Polytechnique where she leads the Industrial Chair ‘Design and modeling of innovative materials’ between Arkema and École Polytechnique.
