He is a professor in the Computer Science Department at École Polytechnique in France, and a Visiting Research Scientist at Google DeepMind. At École Polytechnique, he is a member of the GeomeriX team, and his research is currently supported by his ERC Consolidator Grant (VEGA). At DeepMind, he is involved in efforts related to video understanding.
His group's research focuses on developing mathematically principled approaches for geometric data analysis and synthesis. We tackle problems such as learning on surface meshes, 3D point clouds, and graphs; generative modeling of complex scenes; non-rigid shape matching; 3D reconstruction; and transfer learning, among others. A recurring theme in our work is learning structure-preserving maps and invariant operators across different domains. Beyond computer graphics and vision, I am also interested in using deep learning to address challenges in other scientific fields, and to facilitate scientific discovery.
