Sébastien Galtier (born 24 February 1971) is a French theoretical physicist specializing in turbulence, professor at the Université Paris-Saclay and member of the Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas at the École polytechnique.

After having defended his doctoral thesis in astrophysics at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur in 1998, under the direction of Annick Pouquet, Sébastien Galtier was successively a research assistant at the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Warwick in England (1999-2000) in the team of Alan C. Newell, lecturer (2001), then professor at the University Paris-Sud (2012), and finally professor at the University Paris-Saclay (2020). He is a member of the Institut universitaire de France.
