Abstract

Z and E α,β-Difluoroallyl alcohols have been prepared from chlorotrifluoroethylene. Epoxidation with VO(acac)₂+t-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) results in good diastereo-selectivity for the Z isomer (83%).
