Abstract
This paper presents a methodology for assessing wet weather pollutants loads dispersion using continuous turbidity measurements at annual and event scale. The dispersion is assessed in relation to the size of calibration data, which are used to link turbidity and pollutant parameters. Simulations have been carried out for SS and COD. They show that continuous turbidity measurements lead to a more accurate pollutant loads assessment than common methods, which only rely on sampling campaigns. These low uncertainties values were obtained for a reasonable number of calibration campaigns.
