6.6 J/2 Hz Yb: YAG diode-pumped laser chain activation

Abstract

With careful Amplified Spontaneous Emission and thermal management, 6.6 Joules 7 ns pulses were extracted at 2 Hz in four passes from Lucia active mirror Yb: YAG Diode Pumped Laser amplifier. 15% optical to optical efficiency was achieved.
