Abstract

Recent developments in techniques for modeling, digitizing and visualizing 3D shapes has led to an explosion in the number of available 3D models on the Internet and often it is very difficult to work with them if the representation method is unknown. In this paper we review the most important 3D shape method representation such as boundary or solid representations, but not stopping only to those, and we make also a relevant classification and comparison of the different type of models used today in the virtual environments to create real objects for a real world.
