Abstract

We propose a novel architecture for fast seamless service handover intra and inter technologies. Our architecture is based on a crosslayer approach where the corner stone is the combination of the physical handover and service adaptation. The handover delay at the application layer is drastically reduced and the packet loss has a limited impact on the quality of service compared to classical approaches. The architecture is detailed and a set of measurement results are finally presented and compared to other legacy approaches. An additional result is the instantaneous service adaptation to the new network/terminal parameters.
