Abstract

(Matrix presented) The readily available N-(O-ethyl thiocarbonylsulfanyl)amides are powerful amidyl radical precursors that undergo 5-exo cyclization to give pyrrolidinone derivatives via a radical-chain reaction initiated by a small amount of lauroyl peroxide.
