Abstract

Sources of entangled photon pairs are widely used to achieve basic operations in quantum communication or quantum computation. Most commonly used sources of entangled photon pairs are based on parametric down-conversion in non-linear optical media. These sources operate at room temperature and present very high fidelities but suffer from an intrinsically low photon pair rate.
