Abstract
We have simulated the performance of a magnetic pixel vertex spectrometer, to be installed in the target area of the NA50 dimuon spectrometer. It performs well in tracking hundreds of charged particles emitted in head-on Pb-Pb collisions. The two muons among them are identified by matching their parameters to those of the muons identified in the NA50 spectrometer. A test setup of 66000 pixels has been built. Results from a p-Be test run are presented.
