Abstract

This paper presents a model and two VCSEL based systems, which could be introduced into future satellites. An optoelectronic oscillator using a directly modulated VCSEL could provide a stable microwave signal for satellite payload. A VCSEL-By-VCSEL optical injection locking system brings the perspective to obtain an ultra compact laser source with high frequency bandwidth for optical feeders.
