Abstract

A diode-pumped monolithic nonplanar ring oscillator as the master oscillator and a Nd:glass double-clad fiber as the power amplifier are demonstrated for the master-oscillator fiber power-amplifier (MOFPA) systems. MOFPA system can emit up to 5.5 W of single-frequency radiation with high beam quality and good spectral properties. With slightly modified fiber designs, power scaling showed that even higher power ranges can be reached that were formerly reserved for bulk media systems.
