Abstract

Extension of the well known wire array Z-pinch is proposed using a supersonic metal vapor jet on a 1 TW class machine. We use an aluminium vapor jet as a load for A.G.L.A.E... A 10 1 compression has been obtained with a large x-ray emission in the aluminium K-shell. This technique is promising to obtain different ranges of X-ray emission by using different metallic vapors.
