Abstract

The spectrum of a laser-produced plasma of tantalum in the range 4.4, 4.8 A is interpreted as spin-orbit-split arrays of the 3d-5f transitions for Ta73 xlvi. The excellent agreement between model and experiment indicates the possibility of use for plasma diagnostics.
