Abstract

In this paper, after presenting the context, which indicates a considerable increase in the need for the adaptation of multimedia documents, we show that these results can be obtained by the composition of basic services. Nevertheless, this requires the availability of semantic descriptions of services, for which a shared vocabulary and good practices still need to be defined. We identify a series of works that can contribute to this process and offer basic guidelines to establish these descriptions. This article especially highlights the importance of the development of semantic descriptions of several important families of multimedia processing and proposes a structure that is used to build and organize such descriptions.
