Automatic hypermedia document generation based on electronic mark-up text: The ILDIC case

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

It is evident that building a hypermedia document requires remarkable authoring effort as regards application design, media organization and lining. It would be desirable if there were systems to take advantage of the existing electronic text sources which are generally structured according to a mark-up language. In this paper we describe a system that transforms electronic mark-up documents into hypermedia documents. This system proposes a methodology and a set of generic algorithms for accomplishing this task. The system was developed in the framework of the DELTA/ILDIC project. The implemented algorithms create hypermedia documents in the popular MICROSOFT/MULTIMEDIA VIEWER format taking as input VENTURA PUBLISHER mark-up documents.
