Abstract

This paper presents the influence of the dielectric substrate permittivity on the bandwidth of CRLH leaky-wave antennas. Full wave simulations show that by reducing the dielectric permittivity of the substrate, leaky-wave bandwidth increases from 22% to 120%. Simulated results are validated by measurements on a 22 cells CRLH leaky-wave antenna.
