Abstract

Frequency-dependent ac shielding measurements are used to elucidate the origin of magnetic irreversibility in heavy-ion irradiated Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 single crystals. Whereas at intermediate static fields B < BΦ, ac response is well described by Bose-glass dynamics, low field response is probably governed by a surface barrier.
