Abstract

Wide-band code division multiple-access (WCDMA) has been chosen as a basic radio-access technology for UMTSiIMT-2000. This paper provides independent radio subsystem capacity estimates for the UTRA FDD mode for different test environments using simulations. The evaluation methodology follows the recommendations outlined by ETSI SMG2 [l]. Environment and CDMA specific features are considered in our system level simulator.
