Abstract

Water hammer phenomena are studied numerically by applying the Godunov-type finite volume technique. To model the resulting maximum and minimum pressure waves, we use the homogeneous equilibrium model (HEM) of two-phase flow. The simulation results provide good agreement with the red numerical results available in the literature, thus confirming the performance of the proposed numerical approach.
