Abstract

A technique to detect and quantify local functional dependencies between coupled Chaotic systems was developed. This technique estimated the fraction of locally synchronized configurations, in pair of signals with an arbitrary state of global synchronization. Application of a pair of interacting Rössler oscillators shows that this method was able to quantify the number of dynamical configurations where a local prediction task was possible. A long time simulations of equations at several coupling strength values were also performed.
