Abstract
A technique based on a feed-back loop between a spatial phase sensor and a wave-front corrector is described. Phase measurement is achieved through a three-wave lateral shearing interferometer (TWLSI). Three derivatives of the phase are recovered by the TWLSI, the key component being a 2D grating replicating three tilted copies of the wavefront. Phase correction is achieved through an optically addressed light valve (OALV) which is a spatial light modulator (SLM) based on liquid crystal technology and acts as an electro-optical adaptive phase plate.
