Digital communication for optical transmission systems

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to provide an overview of the main building blocks of optoelectronic transceivers and a comprehensive introduction to digital signal processing techniques that are used today in optical fiber communication systems. The chapter takes a general approach, more related to the general basics than to particular implementations. It gives the reader the tools to understand the different DSP blocks, their principles and roles, as well as the architecture of a modern coherent transceiver.
