Abstract

This communication is devoted to the stability analysis of an embankment lying over a pile-reinforced soil when subjected to a seismic loading. It is based on the implementation of a multiphase model developed in the framework of yield design, then extended to elastoplasticity. The results of the analysis are compared to those derived from a direct 3-dimensional elastoplastic simulation performed with Flac3D.
