Diode-pumped solid-state ring laser gyroscope

Abstract

We report achievement of a novel type of gyroscope based on CW diode-pumped Nd- YAG crystal ring laser with stabilization of bi-directional emission. The very rich dynamics of such a device is described and explained in terms of competition between different coupling effects in the laser.
