Abstract
Dual-frequency solid-state lasers for optical and microwave telecommunication were presented. Two eigenstates were used to build lasers which emitted two frequencies. The laser was stabilized by locking the frequency of the extraordinary eigenstate to a saturated absorption transition of 13C2H2. The generated beat note was found to lie in the GHz range in the case of single-axis lasers and could reach THz frequencies using two-axis cavities.
