Effect of Ar+ ion beam irradiation on the physicochemical characteristics of carbon fibers [5]

Research output: Contribution to journalLetterpeer-review

Abstract

The effect of Ar+ ion beam irradiation on the physicochemical characteristics of carbon fibers was discussed. The fibers were irradiated by Ar+ ion beam assisted reaction (IBAR) method to form a strong carbon fiber/epoxy matrix interface in a final composite system. It was found that structural and chemical modifications play important role in the proposed models.
