Effect of ozone treatment on Cr(VI) and Cu(II) adsorption behaviors of activated carbon fibers

Research output: Contribution to journalLetterpeer-review

Abstract

The influence of ozone treatment on adsorption characteristics for Cr(VI) and Cu(II) of activated carbon fibers (ACF) was discussed. The structural and functional groups of ozone treated ACFs were also analyzed. Boehm's base neutralization method was use to determine the quantity of acidic functional groups on the surface of the untreated and the treated ACFs. It was observed that the adsorption capacity of the phenolic resin-based ACFs was increased at the ph above 4 by the ozone treatment with 1 M NaOH solution .
