Electromagnetic field distribution measurements in the soft-X-ray range: Full characterization of a soft-X-ray laser beam

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

The development of a wavefront sensor for the soft-x-ray wavelength range for complete characterization of the electromagnetic field distribution in a soft x-ray laser beam was discussed. The sensor was based on the Shack-Hartmann concept and was composed of 20 × 20 diffraction Fresnel lenses etched on and overcoated with a refractive multilayer (Bragg-Fresnel lenses). The results showed an improvement of the soft x-ray laser beam wavefront with increased capillary plasma coloumn length.
