Abstract

The equations of state data for iron at pressures higher than 10 Mbar was reported. These results are obtained with laser driven shock waves. The experiment was performed with high energy laser Phebus, which was optically smoothed with Kinoform phase plates. It was found that the results doubled the set of existing experimental data at very high pressures.
