Abstract
Microwave interferometry is an attractive and easy handled method for short range positioning [1]. Nevertheless for indoor applications, due to clutter and multipath propagation, this method is not robust enough. Hence many tedious solutions using high resolution methods, multi tone propagation and multisensors data fusion are depicted in the literature [2] [3]. We propose in this paper two real time correction methods making, in a certain validity domain, the Microwave Interferometry Positioning System (MIPS) relatively insensitive to multimodal propagation. Phase error and hence location error are then considerably decreased.
