Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the experimental procedures developed to identify and validate the state coupling between elasticity and magnetism. This coupling is identified independently either through the stress effect on the anhysteretic magnetic response (the magnetic field being applied in the same direction as a uniaxial stress) or from magnetostriction strain measurements. Results presented herein have been obtained on 99% pure nickel.
