Abstract

We experimentally investigate the impact of first and second-order PMD on the performance of a 100 Gbps polarisation-multiplexed multi-band coherent OFDM system. The signal polarisation is randomly scrambled before the PMD emulator with 70°/ms speed, for more relevant "field" conditions.
