From Kinetic Theory to Hyperbolic-Parabolic Fluid Systems of Equations

Abstract

Fluid systems of equations can be derived from the kinetic theory by using the Chapman-Enskog asymptotic method. We investigate the deep links between the hyperbolic-parabolic mathematical structure of such systems and the kinetic framework.
