Abstract

Using either single-side-band phase noise spectrum or optical cross-correlation, timing jitter of 500 fs integrated from 150 kHz to 320 MHz has been measured from quantum-dash Fabry-Perot mode-locked lasers exhibiting a record low radiofrequency linewidth of ∼850 Hz.
