Generation of femtosecond infrared pulses from 3.3 to 4.5 μm by frequency-mixing of 82 MHz femtosecond pulse trains

Abstract

A theoretical analysis was conducted to study the operation of a Ti:S pumped optical parametric oscillators (OPO) in the 3-4.5 μm frequency region. Parametric difference-frequency mixing in nonlinear crystals was used to show that pulse duration flexibility can be achieved through the right choice of input pulse length and crystal thickness.
