Abstract

This paper compares several real-time control strategies for a generic configuration based on a storage tank with two overflow facilities. Two strategies only use flow data. The third one also uses turbidity data, in order to dynamically choose the overflow point. The efficiencies of these strategies are compared over a wide range of parameter values, by simulating their operation when applied to measured time series recorded on a real site. Involving turbidity measurements into a RTC strategy leads to a significant diminution of annual overflowed pollutants loads.
