Abstract
The gravitational lens effects are described in various cosmological contexts. The equations and approximations from which the displacement field or the amplification effects can be calculated are introduced and described. Observational applications are presented. They range from micro-lensing effects to cosmic shear detection that is weak lensing effect induced by the large-scale structure of the Universe. A more exotic physical situation is presented with a model of "Poisson" cosmic string energy distribution.
