Abstract

The coverage of terrestrial station in a DVB-RCS satellite network, using WiFi technology is discussed. The coverage provides the same kind of service as asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ASDL) networks. The performance will depend on the length of the satellite hops and on the multiplexing of multiple user over the WiFi link. The combination of the satellite and WiFi is being considered as a good solution for villages and hot-spots.
