Abstract

We introduce hydrofluorocarbon molecules as a valuable alternative to conventional noble gases to compress 100 μJ level ultrashort pulses. We demonstrate efficient compression down to 15.6 fs for 170 fs, 1030 nm, 200 μJ initial pulses.
