Infrared line collisional parameters of HCl in argon, beyond the impact approximation: Measurements and classical path calculations

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The fundamental and first overtone band shapes of HCl in a bath of argon , at moderate perturber densities was investigated. The theoretical results based on a classical path formalism was applied with some success to the calculation of HF-argon width and shift cross sections. An accurate-dependent HCl-Ar potential energy surface (PES) was also used for calculating all the measured quantities. The calculations confirmed the quality of the PES and confirmed that the asymmetries are small.
