Abstract
The dissociation of NO2 under strong-field conditions by femtosecond two-color fluorescence depletion spectroscopy was reported. The dissociation dynamics were interpreted in terms of nuclear motions over light-induced potentials formed by coupling of NO2 valence and Rydberg states to the applied field. It was found that generation of n′ = 0 and 1 NO A2∑+ results in different fluorescence modulation patterns. The time required for three-photon dissociation of NO 2 to give NO A2∑+ and O3P at Terawatt intensities was also observed.
