Abstract

The article deals with the problems of urban sewage systems and the natural environment. Two main forms of waste are considered: waste at the outlet of the rainwater main sewer (separated networks) and overloads of the single sewer systems during thunderstorms and questions related to by-pass systems of purification plants. The objective of these studies, going back to the 60's, are summarized in the three main sections of the paper: pollution flow evaluation, comparison with dry weather wastes and impact of pollution on the receiving environment.
